BioFORCE Freshman Summer Academy Kicks Off

BioFORCE is in its 3rd year of delivery, and demand is high! This year, NCTM received more than 160 applicants from across the state to its BioFORCE summer academies. Fifty (50) Texas freshman attended the June 22-26 academy to perform bacterial transformation with green fluorescent protein (GFP), gram staining, protein purification using column chromatography, monitoring bacterial growth curve experiments, and to tour research labs and pharmaceutical companies at Texas A&M and the Texas Medical Center. The BioFORCE Sophomore Summer Academy will take place the week of July 13.
