The National Center for Therapeutics Manufacturing at Texas A&M University and The National School of Tropical Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine have teamed up to produce an intensive one-day workshop for biotech industry professionals on Wednesday, October 9, 2013.
Titled “The Business of Vaccine Development,” the course allows subject matter experts to work directly with participants to:
- Examine the 7 major areas of biotechnology operations and the functional areas of vaccine development;
- Discuss the concept of starting from the end, while focusing on the end user and the intended use of the product;
- Review the rationale for the importance of product development planning;
- Practice case studies involving target product profiles and product development strategies with a focus on Quality by Design (QbD) and biomanufacturing planning sections; and
- Apply this knowledge via hands-on exercises and discussion groups with the assistance of subject matter experts.
Registration opens September 4, 2013. This event is organized in conjunction with the 2nd Annual Biotechnology Conference, “TEXAS ON THE EDGE: Cutting-edge Systems Vaccinology and Molecular Approaches to Vaccines,” to be held on October 10, 2013 at the Texas Medical Center.
