NCTM will host “Protein is Ca$h,” a workshop designed for high school science teachers, during the week of August 4-8. This workshop is funded by the National Science Foundation through a grant awarded to the Northeast Biomanufacturing Center and Collaborative (NBC2) and will be free of charge to all participants. “Protein is Ca$h” provides hands-on training in lab practices such as metrology with pipetting olympics, protein production, and protein purification, allowing teachers to gain the knowledge and skills needed to teach these and other applications in their classrooms. During the week, participants will also interact with biomanufacturing industry experts and tour live pharmaceutical companies.
