This course is part of the NCTM “Advanced Certificate in Biopharmaceutical Manufacturing” Program. This week-long, instructor-led course provides a comprehensive overview of the techniques and challenges involved in the downstream processes for manufacturing biologics in both fixed and single use systems. Lectures and laboratories cover types of biologic products, an overview of downstream processes, clarifying and purifying biomass using various platforms, an overview of filtration and chromatography systems, their operation, and the analytics used to evaluate downstream production. Quality systems relating to downstream manufacturing processes are also integrated throughout the week.
